Dancing Men

About Andy

Andy started DJing back in 1988 with his first ever gig at the Black Horse Pub in Parr for a fee of just £30. Over the years he has built up a reputation for Quality and Reliability juggling pub residencies with Private Functions, carting around 6 heavy boxes of 12 inch singles to every gig. Andy started to make the transition to CD when his residency, Ronnies Bar in Warrington, had a major refurbishment and became the Buzz Bar, equipped with only one Technics SL1210 Turntable, much to his shock and disappointment, giving way to the increasingly popular Denon DN2000F Twin CD System.

Throughout the 90's Andy also secured residencies in Lowies Nightclub and later the Plaza, followed by Reflections within the Stakis Hotel which then became the Hilton and now the Park Inn, before finally leaving the Private Function market as the Bar and Club Work became more demanding and rewarding. This included venues such as the aforementioned Buzz Bar in Warrington, Yates's Wine Lodge in Manchester and Ibiza Bar in Wigan not to mention the Bank Holiday Sundays at Nexus.

A two year stint at the brand new Chicago Rock Cafe in St.Helens saw vinyl being phased out completely and introduced Andy to a more visual format, Music Video, firstly on VHS and DVD (carried in a HUGE suitcase) then later on Computer which, thankfully, saw the end of the heavy boxes and luggage.

On realising the benefits of Visuals and Music Videos, the way they expanded the party beyond the dancefloor to the far reaching corners of the venue, Andy made it his mission to expand his Music Video collection, now encompassing over 6 decades of music and many a varied genre.

Andy returned to Yates's in Manchester and the Reef in Warrington for a brief period before he heard about an exciting new opportunity in 2003 at a new bar in Ashton-in-Makerfield, called Bar Aqua, where he remains to this day on Friday and Saturday Nights.

It was at Bar Aqua where he met Alex, who recently completed her Early Years Foundation Degree at college, and with her enthusiasm for working with children saw them teaming up, (much to the relief of his wife Sara who was almost in the frame), to go back on the road, initially for Children's Discos and Family Parties such as Christenings and Holy Communions, and now, once again, Weddings and Evening Functions.
